Peru Pastoral Couples Training Conference
His Grace is Sufficient!

Paracas, Peru, August 9-18
Dina came to us in tears. She and her husband of 42 years had slowly stopped communicating with each other over the years. She had focused on the home and family and he had poured himself into ministry. Dina had lost hope and was asking for prayers. A story we’d heard many times before. But, as God spoke through His Word and our transparent teaching team about integrity, priorities, transparency, communication and forgiveness, the walls started to come down. God’s redemptive grace was at work.
At the beginning of the training, we ask everyone to write down what they hope God will do in their life and marriage during the week. On the last day, we ask them to review what they wrote and write a new note thanking God for what He has done. Here are a few of their comments:
Dina writes, “Through this ministry, the Lord has begun the restoration of my marriage, bringing back the dialogue and communication that was lost for so many years. My prayer for this week has been answered. I thank God and you. What God has begun, He will finish.“

“I thank the Almighty Lord for his kindness, love and infinite mercy, for this wonderful time with my husband, renewing our strength, giving us time to be edified. I am thankful for God’s Word, for the people He used to serve us and for all the nice gestures and details. Now, I am committed to humbly teach what I received to our church family.”

“I want to praise God for this incredible week. God spoke to my heart, corrected and instructed me. I am grateful to have had this time without interruptions and all the things I have to do at home and in the church. We leave filled with God’s word and with a different perspective. I take to heart all of the counsel and ask for your prayers for my marriage and family.”

“We have seen love expressed between pastoral couples that inspires, motivates and encourages us. We have received fresh words from God that we need since we always give and give. We have enjoyed a comfortable place and good activities. We have rested from daily activities and given our soul the opportunity to be renewed. We have enjoyed the love of the Shepherds’ Support team.“

We are so thankful for the leadership of our Latin American Associate Director, pastor William and his wife, Ruth. They, and several members of their church, demonstrated such thoughtful love and admiration for the pastoral couples. It shined through in every detail of their organization and leadership throughout the conference.

The Lord also blessed us by providing for our ministry partners from Argentina, Bolivia and Colombia to join us. This gave them some needed rest and it gave us an opportunity to discuss future strategy and plans together. The Lord continues to open doors for us throughout Latin America.
A special word of appreciation to our teaching team members as well; Pastor Don and Claudia Erickson; Pastor Rick and Dot Webb; Sid and Zane Williams and Pastor Rick and Diana Lowe.
Ways You Can Pray!
- Thank the Lord with us for His presence and ministry amongst us in Peru. There were many “divine appointments” and much to be thankful for.
- As several couples asked, “please continue to pray for our marriage and that we would follow through on our commitments.”
- Our next Shepherds’ Support training is coming up in Macedonia from September 20-30. Please pray for our final team preparations and for the pastoral couples who have been invited to overcome any obstacles.
- Join us in praying for God’s leading as we start to look ahead and plan for 2025. We want to follow Him in all we do!

We saw so many ways that God was working out His redemptive grace in the lives of this special group of Peruvian pastoral couples. His Kingdom mission goes on in and through them.
Thank you for helping to make all of this possible!
