Can it get more incredible than this?

Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu is one the Seven Wonders of the World. This picturesque Inca citadel sits on a small ridge high above the Urubamba river.  The Incas built the estate around 1450, but abandoned it a century later, at the time of the Spanish conquest.  It was virtually hidden from the world until it was rediscovered in 1912.  It’s beauty and construction are truly incredible.

Yes it can!

The Beauty of God’s Creation!

When you look out from Machu Picchu, you can’t help but admire the majestic mountains that surround it and stretch 1,000’s of feet almost vertically towards the sky. These have never been created by any civilization.  God’s creation humbles our most admired attempts at beauty.

“For the LORD is a great God. And a great King above all gods, In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also.” Psalm 95:4-5.

Can it get more incredible than that? Yes it can, and we saw it all this week

Every day this week, we witnessed the amazing work of the Lord in each of the pastoral couples at our conference.  Every element of the conference seemed to be clearly orchestrated by the Lord for such a time as this and with each couple in mind.  They felt cared for and loved.  They especially heard God speak into their lives through the messages, couples prayer walk and our times of follow ship.

We heard heart warming stories of reconciled marriages, re-commitment to ministry, healing and rest.  Seeing and participating in the tender loving work of God’s Spirit in the lives of these faithful servants of God’s Kingdom was even more amazing than the nature that surrounded up.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation.” Isaiah 52:7

Ways You Can Pray!

  1. Praise the Lord with us for such a fruitful week of encouraging and equipping these wonderful pastoral couples.  He truly showed up in each of their lives in very special ways and we are so grateful for His presence and leading.
  2. Please pray for these couples as they return to their homes and ministries.  May the Lord continue to bear fruit through them as they apply what they have learned and reproduce it in the lives of others!
  3. Please pray our safe return home.  Pray also for one of our teammates who has tested positive for COVID even though he is not symptomatic.  He and his wife will be remaining in Cusco (not a bad place to be stranded) until he is cleared to fly.  We are asking the Lord for his complete healing and to sovereignly direct our decisions and care for them.

It is hard to convey the appreciation these couples expressed for all that God did in their lives through this first of a kind pastoral couples retreat in the region.  Thank you for praying with us and supporting this gracious work of God so they might continue to bring good news to the broken world around them.

Thank you for joining with us!
