God Makes A Way

We have not all been infected by COVID-19, but we have all be affected by it.  Some have suffered from the disease, others from the economic toll and still others from the isolation of quarantine.  At Shepherds’ Support we continue to pray and seek God’s leading for additional new ways to serve our international partners.  God has made a way!

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”  – Isaiah 43:19

In Peru

Our partners, Pastor William and Ruth, called last week burdened by the extended impact of COVID-19, the loss of life and the stress that pastoral couples are facing as they shepherd their congregations through extremely difficult times.

Pastor William asked if Shepherds’ Support would be willing to host several online gatherings to encourage and strengthen couples throughout the country.  We prayed together and the Lord led us to develop a series of interactive online events that could be replicated in other countries.

We are excited about this opportunity to re-connect with many of these pastors and to encourage them to carry on.  Our hope is that we can host additional gatherings in the weeks ahead.

Please pray with us for the Peruvian Pastoral Couples Online Event on Tuesday, June 30th at 9 am.

  1. Ask the Lord to use our speaker, Pastor Samuel Marcano from Venezuela, to encourage the couples to rely upon God’s Spirit as they cope with the stress they face in their marriages.
  2. Pray that the pastors would share openly with one another and be encouraged by the teaching and online fellowship.  We want them to be refreshed knowing that the Lord is with them always and in all things.

In Kenya

Our partners, Pastor Bernard and Sarah, have seen the difficulties that especially the rural pastors face as a result of COVID-19. Since we had to postpone our conference originally scheduled for this July, we decided to send them a donation to help support and encourage them. Sarah writes,

“We prayerfully thought on how to spend this special gift and the Lord impressed on our hearts the need to partner with the very needy of the Pastors who were planning to attend the conference. We sent out a message and inquired on the pastors who only earn $50 dollars a month and we have a list of 20 pastoral families who work in the interior parts of Kenya who are in need.”

They came up with a list of helpful items including: rice, sugar, corn meal, beans, cooking oil, etc… and are planning on delivering these relief packages to each of the families on Friday, July 3rd.

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”  – Isaiah 43:19

Would you join us in praying for these pastoral families and that God would multiply His provision for them?

On a personal note, Diana and I are thankful that although two of our children have had COVID, they have both recovered well and we have been healthy.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support of the ministry!

Grace to you and peace from God our Father,
