Relationships Matter

Honduras Pastoral Couples Training

September 22-30, 2023

Our relationship with GOD matters

God used Sid and Zane Williams to build new relationships and warmly express His love and appreciation for each couple.  Sid made friends quickly and Zane had everyone’s attention with her first pictogram as she creatively illustrated the transformative message of the Gospel found in Ephesians 2:1-10.

Rick and Diana challenged us to identify some of the many lies that we are constantly bombarded with and then poured into us the abundant truths found in Scripture about our new identity in Christ as a result of our relationship with God.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. II Corinthians 5:17

Our MARRIAGE and FAMILY relationships matter

God spoke through the insightful illustrations and sincere exhortations of William and Ruth Evaristo who taught on the blessings and challenges of marriage and family relationships in ministry.  They emphasized the importance of being unified and having our priorities in line with Christ.

Our relationships with PEOPLE matter

God used the deeply impactful personal experiences and teaching of Don and Claudia Erickson to open our hearts and illustrate the Biblical truths that we studied each morning in 1 Peter. One of the highlights of the week was appreciating the fruitfulness of Don and Claudia’s 30-year relationship with our Honduran ministry partners at El Ayudante.

Our relationships with ONE ANOTHER matter

Another highlight of the week was seeing how the Lord brought this diverse group of city and rural pastoral couples together and encouraged them. There were concerns beforehand that pride and prejudice might cause offense, but that was not the case.

Our unity in Christ and our shared mission quickly built new friendships and deepened previous acquaintances.  An over-arching feeling expressed by many was how much they felt loved, appreciated and valued.  Their hearts and spirits were renewed and they were excited to carry on in their ministries and marriages.  Victory!

Ways you can pray!

  1. Take a moment to pause and thank God for the healthy relationships in your life.
  2. Thank the Lord with us for the blessing of his presence throughout the week in Honduras.
  3. Pray for the steadfast faith of our partners in places like Kosovo, Armenia, Ukraine and Russia where war and persecution continue to cause great suffering.
  4. Pray for our team preparing to visit pastoral couples throughout Ukraine next month.  (More regarding this trip to follow shortly.)

Our relationship with YOU matters

It was evident throughout the week that God has blessed us through our relationship with you. You are what makes all of this possible.

Your participation on our team as prayer warriors and financial supporters deeply matters. We felt the strength and encouragement of your prayers, and your financial gifts were a great blessing to these faithful shepherds of God’s Kingdom mission.  THANK YOU!
